Local eatery Radical Gardens nabbed the sweet taste of victory Thursday night at the 31st Annual Northern Ontario Business Awards, hosted by Timmins at the Senator Hotel.

They took home the Company of the Year (1-15 employees) Award.

On their Facebook page, they say they are honoured to receive the award.

There was a little more Timmins content in the winners’ category, as The Bucket Shop grabbed the Judges’ Award.

The Woodward family-owned business is in the midst of their fourth expansion and recently opened their new shop on McBride Street in the west end.

And Attawapiskat Enterprises got the First Nations Business Award of Excellence.

They are based out of Attawapiskat, but also own Advanced Security in Timmins—the first Indigenous-owned security firm in Eastern Canada—and provides security at Northern College, mining and hydro-electric dam projects, and performs loss prevention services in the Timmins area.

Other winners include:

  • Company of the Year (16-50 employees): Ramakko’s Source for Adventure [Sudbury]
  • Company of the Year (51+ employees): Gin-Cor [Mattawa]
  • Entrepreneur of the Year: Walter Siggelkow [Dowling]
